Jamshedpur: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Rauniyar Vaisya Mahasabha took out a candle march at Sakchi on Thursday to protest against the recent killing of BJP activist Pankaj Lal Gupta. Homage was paid to Gupta at Sakchi roundabout where the candle march culminated into a gathering.
Leading the agitators, the national president of the outfit Bhagwan Prasad said the law and order situation in the country had deteriorated beyond imagination. He alleged that the state police had failed to nab Gupta�s killers till date. He said no BJP leader had come forward to either condemn or demand arresting of killers as yet.
District president of Vaisya Ekta Manch Rakesh Sahu accused the BJP of showing a cold attitude in Gupta�s murder case. He said the BJP government was quiet over the killing. He demanded a CBI probe into the murder and Rs 50 lakh compensation to the next of kin of the slain BJP leader.
A large number of protestors were present on the occasion.
