Jamshedpur, March 25: In a unique move, the Purvi Singhbhum Zila Marwari Sammelan (PSZMS) has taken under its wings the maintenance of 1,800 stray cows. Cow dung cakes are being made with the help of machines.

A delegation of PSZMS officials led by BJP leader Pawan Agrawal met the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner today and urged him that all crematoriums in the city use cow dung cakes to burn dead bodies. This, they argued, would not only increase the use of cow dung cakes but also ensure cleaner air quality and check the felling of trees.

The delegation felt that the district administration would cooperate in the matter.
