West Bokaro, Sept. 16: The first edition of Tata Steel�s West Bokaro Super League concluded on September 15, 2017 at Sports Complex, West Bokaro. Four teams namely Tata Steel XI, Union XI, Media XI and PRI XI showed great sportsman spirit while fighting for the trophy.
Union XI won the tournament beating Tata Steel XI by 1-0 goal in the final match which was full of excitement and thrill.
The friendship tournament named �West Bokaro Super League� was inaugurated by Mr Sanjay Kumar Singh, General Manager, Coal, Tata Steel in the presence of Mr Mohan Mahto, President, Rastriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh.
The first match was played between PRI XI and Union XI, where PRI XI was defeated by 2-0. The second match was between Tata Steel XI and Media XI where Tata Steel won by 5-0 goals. The final match played between Tata Steel XI and Union XI was won by Union team by 1-0.
While Mr Somen Mukharjee of Union XI was adjudged as the �Best Player� of the tournament, Media XI won the �Fair Play� trophy.
On the occasion, Singh said, �This tournament sends out a message that through sports we can create a friendly environment and strengthen relationship�.
Among those present on the occasion were Sahabji Khuchroo, Chief, Operations; Mr Anurag Dixit, Chief, Quarry-SE; Anand Kumar, Chief, Capacity Enhancement Project; Mr Praveen Sinha, Chief HRM; Mr B V Sudhir, Chief, CB; Mr Kajal Hota, Chief, P & EM; along with senior media professionals, union and Tata Steel officials.
