Jamshedpur: Panic spread at Tatanagar Railway station on Sunday afternoon after an unclaimed bag was found at the first class AC waiting hall on platform no. 1 of the railway station. Soon, RPF and GRP Station in-charge arrived at the waiting hall and inspected the bag. Through the CCTV footage, police tried to identify the person entering the waiting hall with the bag. Dog squad and metal detector was also used to examine the bag.
After GRP and RPF finished the inquiry, the bag which was tied to a table was opened but police didn’t found any objectionable item. Admission form of the school students of Xavier Council of India, Padampur and Maneshwar was recovered from the bag. The Railway police will investigate as to how the school forms reached Tatanagar Station.
It may be noted that the army personals waiting for the Jammu Tawi train had informed about the unclaimed bag at the waiting hall to security officers of platform. According to the passengers, a traveller had tied the bag to a table with the chain and was sleeping beside it but no one came forward when GRP-RPF asked the bag owner.
