Jamshedpur, September 29: Uranium Corporation of India Ltd (UCIL) on Thursday organised workshop to create awareness on Uranium at Sidho-Kanho memorial high school in Kedo.
The school students were informed about the uranium mining, sources of future energy, Uranium exploration, mining, milling and radiation.
Total of 110 students of class 10 participated in the workshop. Addressing the workshop, assistant manager of UCIL S Tripathy and deputy manager Stelin Hembrom, said informed the students about the myths surrounding the uranium radiation and its truth.
They also informed the school students about the importance of uranium radiation and its sources. Through audio visual school students were given information about the necessary information about uranium during the conclusion of the workshop.
A quiz was also organised for the students were the students who gave correct answer were awarded mementoes by the company.
