Jadugoda, Dec 21: Everything is in place to hold the UCE Cooperative Credit Society of Jadugoda elections on Tuesday, December 22. 3,663 UCIL worker members will exercise their franchise to elect three committee members and one treasurer. Five booths have been set up including two at Jadugoda Community Centre, one at Narwa Uranium Project and two at Turamdih. Sanitizers have been provided in each booth.
Election Officer Basant Kumar Rai inspected all the booths and gave instructions on polling criteria to all booth manning personnel. He said that only one vote would be allowed per voter for the treasurer’s while three each for the executive committee members’ posts. Any violation in the matter of casting votes by a voter would lead to cancellation of his votes. Rai asked all booth personnel to ensure that voters maintained social distancing and wore masks as mandatory norms for voting.
UCIL employee Vidyanand Sharma who is contesting for the post of committee member said, “If the voters give me a chance to serve the Credit Society, I will ensure several changes including app contact with all share holders and increase in loan amounts.”
