Corona Confines: No deaths reported for 14 consecutive days in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Dec. 21: No COVID-19 death has been reported in the East Singhbhum district in the last fourteen days as the death toll remains at 374. Positive cases are on the rise as the active cases have crossed 200 in the district.  

On Monday, East Singhbhum district reported 23 corona positive cases while 34 people recovered of the virus.

The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 17333. 34 people recovered of the virus on Monday taking the total recovery to 16744 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 215.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 166018 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97% while the mortality rate is 2.2 %.

So far in Jamshedpur 449666 samples have been collected out of which 441940 have been tested and 424607 have turned out to be negative.

On the other hand, Coronavirus tally in the state on Monday reached to 1,13,198 as 173 cases of Covid-19 were detected across 18 districts of Jharkhand. During the day 1 death was reported from Dumka district as a result of which the overall death count has reached to 1011. The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.89 percent. As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 1,675 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 1,13,198.

The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 1011. On Monday a maximum number of 86 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 23 in East Singhbhum, 8 in Palamu, 8 in Bokaro and 7 in Gumla (top five districts). A total of number of 205 people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 82 from Ranchi, 34 from East Singhbhum, 23 from Bokaro, 12 in Palamu and 8 each in Hazaribagh and Dhanbad.

Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once gone above 97 percent mark to currently stand at 97.62 percent in Jharkhand. So far in the state 46,54,920 samples have been collected out of which 46,44,830 have been tested and 45,31,632 have turned out to be negative.
