Jamshedpur, Jan 31: In the Raghunathdih locality under Dhalbhumgarh police station in East Singhbhum, an agitated father murdered two women in retaliation for the beating of his son. He also injured two others in the process. The victims were 20-year-old Dipali Munda and 55-year-old Kulo Munda. Dipali’s husband Piru Munda and their son Sidhu Munda sustained injuries. The incident occurred late Tuesday night. The assailant had since absconded.
On receiving the information, the Ghatsila and Dhalbhumgarh police reached the spot, took possession of the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at the Ghatsila Subdivisional Hospital. The police have taken the accused, Chunu Munda, the son of the assailant, into custody.
According to information, a few days ago, Piru Munda had assaulted Chunu Munda. In retaliation, Chunu’s father went to Piru’s house late Tuesday night when everyone there was asleep. He entered a room where Dipali and her aunt were sleeping and attacked them with a sharp weapon multiple times, resulting in their immediate deaths. Piru, who attempted to intervene, also faced a life-threatening assault.
After the incident, the police have initiated an investigation in the matter.
