Jamshedpur, May 13: Telco police here on Friday arrested two persons in connection with the recent incident of theft in the house of one Naresh Pal Choudhary.
The accused were identified as G Ravi of Nanak Nagar, Tinplate, and Ankit Kumar Singh of Zone No 1B, Birsanagar.
Addressing a press conference, SP City K Vijay Shankar said police had confiscated a mobile phone, a TV, one Bullet motorcycle, fake number plate of motor vehicle, mobile phone, laptop, kitchen appliances and gold and silver ornaments from the possession of the accused persons. Cops have also seized the goods vehicle used to carry the stolen articles by the thieves, he said.
According to the SP, the accused persons broke into the house of one Ashish Kumar Choudhary in Golmuri on 10th May last and stole away cash and ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh. Prior to that, on 14th March last, the accused duo had stolen ornaments from the house of Raja Rani Biruli at Shefali Road in Old Cable Town, Golmuri. G Ravi used to work as a decorator during wedding functions and other events and had a good image in the locality, said the SP.
While Ravi worked with a tent house agency, Ankit Kumar Singh supplied water in households. Both would hire a goods auto-rickshaw at the rate of Rs 350 a day to carry the articles they stole from various locked houses in the area. They used a fake number plate in the vehicle to prevent being traced out, said the SP.
