Jamshedpur, May 13: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy visited three localities under Tata lease area on Friday with the view to review the condition of basic civic amenities available there. He went to Gwala Basti and Brahman Tola at Bhuiyandih, East Plant Basti at Burmamines and Gangotri Apartment at Sitaramdera.
In a press statement issued today, Roy said, “The situation in the three areas I visited today is pathetic. Be it water and electricity supply or cleanliness, the condition of these areas is unsatisfactory. Drainage system in these localities is poor as an hour long rain two days ago converted the place into a hellhole.”
The MLA said he had held meetings with the top officials of Tata Steel UISL (formerly JUSCO) to find out ways to resolve the civic amenities issues way back in February 2020, visited these areas and made plans but nothing worked out and the situation remains much the same.
Roy said he would ask the state government to provide funds to Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) to improve situation in the various localities.
