Two minor girls electrocuted near Jamshedpur

Seraikela, July 28: Two minor girls, Kuni Banra (13) and Rukmini Samrad (12) died of electrocution after coming in contact with a live wire while playing in Gutusai Tola under Kharsawan police station on Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred when the girls, who were playing near an electric pole in the Amda OP area of Seraikela Kharsawan, accidentally touched a live wire. They were immediately rushed to Kharsawan CHC by local residents. After receiving first aid, they were transferred to the Sadar Hospital of Seraikela, where doctors pronounced them dead.

Kuni Banra was the third of seven siblings while Rukmini Samrad was the third of five siblings. The police were informed of the incident, and officers from Amda OP reached Sadar Hospital to take statements from the family members.

MLA representative Anoop Singhdev also visited the hospital and assured the families that they would receive compensation according to the rules. Kuni Banra was a resident of Gutusai village, while Rukmini Samrad, originally from Kolabira, was visiting her maternal home in Gutusai village at the time of the accident.
