Jamshedpur, Jan. 3: Two persons were killed and driver of a car was seriously injured in a road mishap on Kadma-Sonari Marine Drive under Kadma police station area this afternoon.
Those killed were local residents and were returning homes having taken bath in the Kharkai river at about 2.30 pm when the mishap took place.
One of the victim was identified as Bittu Kumar (30), whereas the identity of another 50-year-old victim could not be known.
The identity of the 55-year-old car driver who was later shifted to MGM Medical College Hospital is yet to be known.
Later the local residents put up a blockade on the Marine Drive near Ramjanam Nagar by setting tire on fire. The protestors were demanding compensation.
A long queue of cars and other mode of vehicles had been made as the vehicular communication came to a standstill due to the blockade. Commuters had to suffer immensely.
As this was the prominent road, this caused great inconvenience to the local residents and also others.
When the two-wheelers and pedestrians took to other routes, those in four-wheelers and three wheelers remained stuck up in the jam.
