Jamshedpur, November 22: The 4th Asian Roll Ball Championship is set to take place from December 16 to 20, 2024, at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium in Margao, Goa. Ten countries from across Asia will compete in this prestigious tournament.
Representing India, two players from Jharkhand, Piyush Pandey and Isha Sonkar, have been selected for the national Roll Ball team. Piyush will play for the men’s team, while Isha will join the women’s squad. Both are trainees of the Tata Steel Roll Ball Skating Center.
In addition, Jyoti, also a coach at the Tata Steel Roll Ball Skating Center, has been appointed as the coach for the Indian women’s team. A training camp for the championship is scheduled in Belgaum, Karnataka, from December 8 to 15, 2024, after which the teams will head to Goa.
The Jharkhand Roll Ball Association, led by Secretary Chandeshwar Kumar and President Manoj Yadav, along with officials from Tata Steel Sports Department, congratulated Piyush, Isha, and Jyoti on their selection. They extended their best wishes for the team’s success at the championship, highlighting the pride and honour brought to the state by their achievements.
