Two jailed for violence in Prabhat Khabar’s office

Jamshedpur, Dec 8: Shubra Sarkara B.Ed teacher at Co-operative College and her husband S S Palit were sent to jail on Monday for vandalizing the office of Hindi daily Prabhat Khabar in Sakchi, Jamshedpur.

It may be noted that Shubra Sarkar along with her husband S SPalit and some other miscreants entered the office of PrabhatKhabar and smashed the furniture and other belongings which left journalists Nikhil Sinha and Rima Dey injured. This incident took place in the late afternoon of Sunday.

The incident was condemned by various section of the society and the student union took to street and triggered shut down of various city colleges and demanded sacking of Shubra Sarkar from Kolhan University and stringent action against the culprits.

A member of ABVP on the occurrence said that if university fails to take action against the accused, we shall be forced to gherao the university’s head office. Paritosh Singh of Youth Congress condemning the attack on the office of Hindi daily said that university has appointed a teacher who is compelling studentsto take up crime. Parvinder Singh of NSUI said that the attack is a shameful incident for the education system. Deepak Dubey of AJSU said that we demand immediate termination of the teacher from Vice-Chancellor of KU Dr. RPP Singh.

Pavan Kumar Singh, RajanSandeep Singh, Md. Sarfarazof Jharkhand ChatrMorcha (JCM), Ravi Prakash Singh, Sonu Thakur, PrabhatTiwary, Satnam Singh of ABVP, Paritosh Singh, PavanTiwary, of Youth Congress, Parvinder Singh, Shibu Singh, Prabhjot Singh of NSUI, were heading the called shutdown.
