Jamshedpur, July 28: Two former BDO of East Singhbhum district Mussabani block, Smrita Kumari and Sandeep Anurag Topno have been found guilty of charges of misappropriation and embezzlement of funds in MNREGA scheme.
With the recovery of embezzled amount they are likely to be suspended. Charge cards will also be set up and departmental action against them will be taken soon.
In these cases the accused were fined and some other rural workers also have been recommended to relieve.
Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development, after an investigation of the effect of the scheme has recommended commissioner.
Former Seraikela-Kharsawan BDO Smrita Kumari is now the DTO. They are also has been accused of corruption.
The case came to light following complaints filed by RTI activist Dinesh Mahato.
