Jamshedpur: The 30th two day Shri-Shri Shyam Mahotsav commencing February 15 will be jointly hosted by the Shri-Shri Sakchi Shiv Mandir and Shri Shyam Parivar. The Mahotsav will be organized at Shiv Mandir in the Sakchi market. A meeting of the organizing committee chaired by Umesh Sah was called today at the Sakchi market Shiv Mandir.
Responsibilities for organizing the two day Mahotsav were distributed especially among the young members.
The meeting was conducted by the organization�s president Bablu Agrawal. According to the schedule for the two day event, approximately 1,100 devotees comprising men and women will take out a grand procession at 2 pm on February 15, Friday. Prior to the procession, the Deity�s flag will be worshipped at 11 am. Baba Shyam�s attractive adornment will be taking place at 6 pm, the ritualistic 56 varieties of offerings will be made at 6:30 in the evening and the Akhand Jyoti rituals will commence at 8:30 pm. Religious songs will be presented from 9 pm and will continue till the early hours of the next morning.
On the second day of the Mahotsav Saturday, February 16, a huge kitchen (Bhandara) will distribute the holy prasad to more than 5,000 devotees from 12:30 in the afternoon. Bhajans in ode to Baba Shyam will be performed by popular singers from Jaipur Kumar Giriraj and Uma Lahri. Local Bhajan singer Krishnamurty will also perform during the program.
Those present at the meeting of the organizing committee included, beside Umesh Sah and Bablu Agrawal, Rishabh Moonka, Tushar Jindal, Mohit Sah, Suresh Agrawal, Girdhari Lal Khemka, Kamlesh Chowdhary, Shankar Lal Agrawal, Amar Agrawal, Mahesl Agrawal, Manish Agrawal, Govind Agrawal, Amit Sah, Anil Agrawal, Pawan Khemka, Shyam Sunder Moonka, Naresh Agrawal, Rajkumar Chanduka, Bhola Moonka and Naresh Khandelwal.
