Seraikela: Police arrested two youths, identified as Raju Nayak and Deepak Mahato, at Seraikela Court on Friday for allegedly trying to pass on ganja and mobile phone to an under-trial prisoner.
According to Seraikela SDPO Dhirendra Narayan Banka, SP Chandan Kumar Sinha had received a tip-off about the youths having come to the Seraikela court to supply ganja and mobile phone to Mangal Tudu, currently lodged in Seraikela jail. A police team was sent to the court. The accused persons were caught within the court premises, said the SDPO.
Police recovered 170 grams of ganja and a mobile phone hidden in the slippers of the accused persons. The accused duo reportedly confessed their crime during interrogation.
