The incident led to chaos on the school premises and in the surrounding locality.

The injured student has been identified as Saumya Kumar, a Class XII student of the school.

According to eyewitnesses, as Saumya stepped out of the campus after the dispersal bell, a group of youths who appeared to be lying in wait suddenly accosted him and launched a violent assault.
