Jamshedpur, July 16: Tata Steel organised the Annual Ethics Quiz 2014 to commemorate Ethics Month at Steelenium Hall.
A total of 534 teams consisting of 1602 participants participated from 21 locations in the quiz at its preliminary round. The quiz was conducted by quiz master, Emam Ghazali Khan, an employee of Tata Steel.
A total of six teams qualified for the final round out of which Tubes division team consisting of Milesh Kumar, Pankaj Sharma and Aparna Rani Ghana bagged the first position in the quiz .The second and third positions were bagged by Shared Services and R&D. Tripti Roy, Ethics Counsellor, Tata Steel, gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up of the show.
Suresh Kumar, Vice President, Shared Services, Tata Steel and the Chief Guest on the occasion said �I am pleased to see the enthusiasm among the participants and the audience. The questions, I find are thought-provoking. I wish the participants the very best and hope that Corporate Ethics continues to put up such engaging activities for the employees.�
This year, a quiz competition for the employees of the Tata group companies based at Jamshedpur was also held at Steelenium Hall. A total of 33 teams consisting of 99 participants from nine Tata group companies took part in the quiz. In this, Tata Steel bagged first position consisting of Biju Abraham, S K Tripathy and Nilu Kumari. The second and third slots were bagged by Jharkhand Continuous Annealing and Processing Company Limited (JCAPCL) and Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL).
The quiz for the Tata companies was conducted by Dr Shantanu Chakravorty. Mr Dibyendu Bose, Group Director, Investment & New Ventures, Tata Group, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, who appreciated the initiative of conducting the quiz competition which encompasses the Tata group companies. �Quiz is a very good medium of learning and it should be a continued process.�
