TSAF students selected for National Sports Climbing Championship

Jamshedpur : Four students from Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) have been selected for National Sports Climbing Championship being held at Salt Lake Stadium Kolkata They were selected from the east zone on the basis of excellent performance in East Zone Climbing Championship held in November.

Their ranking in east zone climbing championship held on 1st Nov�14 � 3rd Nov� 14: Jyoti Kumari (F, 13 years), RMS High School � 1st position sub Jr category Girls, Vinita Kumari (F, 12 years), Loyola School � 2nd Position sub Jr Category Girls Talim Ansari (M, 13 years), DBMS Lilliput School � 3rd Position sub Jr category Boys and Amit Sharma (M, 15 years) � 3rd Position Jr Category Boys.

In nationals, they will be competing with participants all over India in lead and speed climbing category.

From past three months, several youths from Jamshedpur are undergoing extensive training for sports climbing on the TSAFs sport climbing wall at JRD Tata Sports complex under supervision of Hemant Gupta, Gopal and Umakanth and we are continuing our efforts to promote sports climbing in Jamshedpur and with the performance of these 4 kids, the culture for sports climbing will increase in future.
