Jamshedpur: Indian National Army (INA) Day was celebrated with fervour at The Milanee, Bistupur, under the aegis of Subhash Sanskriti Parishad, Jamshedpur, on Friday.
The chief guest of the programme was eminent industrialist and social worker Shekhar Dey. He paid tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose by garlanding his bust on the premises of The Milanee. Thereafter he lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Dey spoke on the significance of the event and remembered Netaji as the true son of the soil the country has ever seen. He said the INA had played an instrumental role in the Indian freedom struggle and that Netaji had indeed served the country with his blood by sacrificing everything.
A large number of people were present on the occasion. They paid floral tributes to Netaji, the founder of INA, and discussed the role of INA and Netaji in the struggle for Independence.
