Jamshedpur, October 21: Rotary club of Jamshedpur West has planned four-day awareness sessions amongst ladies of slum areas of Sonari and took out rallies to promote awareness on importance of giving polio vaccine to children on the occasion of World Polio Day on October 24.
Rotary member Nibha talked to the ladies of Birsa Basti on importance of giving Polio vaccines to children and showed file pictures of children with Polio.
Though India is Polio free Country, there’s always a chance of children getting infected as Pakistan is yet to get rid of the disease. President of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West Alakananda Bakshi, Secretary Shweta Chand, Radhika, Rotary spouse Neelam, Snehlata and Payal helped in conducting the talk.
Later a rally was taken out with Rotary members and ladies of Slum areas with awareness Boards and slogans for promoting Vaccine in Birsa and Sidhu Kanhu Basti.
On Saturday and Sunday, the club has planned rallies and awareness talks at Deeksha and BS Basti and Balram Basti. On Monday a big rally will be organised in Bistupur.
