Jamshedpur, Mar 7: In a step towards eradicating tuberculosis, TRF has collaborated with the government under the Pradhan Mantri Tuberculosis Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, adopting 20 tuberculosis patients from East Singhbhum district. TRF has committed to providing these patients with a nutritional food basket throughout their treatment, ensuring they receive the necessary dietary support to aid their recovery.

India bears the highest tuberculosis (TB) burden in the world, with the disease primarily affecting the economically productive age group. This not only impacts the health of individuals but also leads to a substantial loss of working days, further pushing TB patients into poverty. Recognizing the severity of the issue, TRF responded swiftly to a request from the district administration and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to adopt at least five TB patients. Going beyond the request, TRF decided to support 20 patients, reinforcing its commitment to social welfare.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, TRF formally handed over 20 nutritional food packets at the District Tuberculosis Centre in Sakchi, Jamshedpur, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Employee Volunteerism initiatives. The event was attended by TRF’s female employees, senior officers and Kaushik Dutta, Head of Corporate Services & Communication, along with local health and welfare officers from the Civil Surgeon’s office.

The initiative was widely appreciated by local authorities and health officials, highlighting the importance of corporate participation in public health programs. TRF’s efforts stand as an example of how corporate organizations can contribute meaningfully to social health initiatives, making a difference in the lives of those battling TB.
