Jamshedpur, Mar 7: A new town plan is set to be implemented in Jamshedpur within the next six months, aiming to transform the city’s infrastructure and urban landscape. Preparations for the plan have already begun under the supervision of the district administration, following instructions from the Deputy Commissioner. A district-level team has been formed to oversee the development and ensure proper monitoring of new building constructions.

To create a structured master plan, a comprehensive survey will be conducted, focusing on the company command area of the city. A team of engineers and town planners from Tata UISL and JNAC has been assigned to identify and demarcate residential, commercial and green zones. The plan will help regulate urban expansion while ensuring designated spaces for parks and green belts along roadsides.

To prevent unauthorized construction, a nine-member district-level committee has been established, including officials such as the ADM, SDO, Deputy Municipal Commissioner and engineers from Tata Steel and JNAC. This committee will take strict action against illegal buildings and ensure adherence to the new regulations. Additionally, two teams have been deployed in the East and West Assembly constituencies to identify structures that violate building maps. Strict enforcement measures, including the disconnection of electricity and water connections, will be implemented against those who fail to comply.

Once the new town plan is finalized and executed, Jamshedpur is expected to witness significant improvements in its urban aesthetics and infrastructure. According to JNAC deputy municipal commissioner Krishna Kumar, the plan will lead to a well-organized and visually appealing cityscape, with parks and green spaces enhancing the environment. The process will begin with marking designated areas and only then will new construction plans be approved in alignment with the master plan.
