Train services on Howrah-Kharagpur route returning to normal

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, May 23: Train operations on the Howrah-Kharagpur section are gradually returning to normalcy following disruptions caused by post-Non-Interlocking (NI) work at the Santragachi yard. The temporary rescheduling of Mail/Express trains and cancellation of a few suburban services in recent days was necessary to ensure a systematic upgrade of the signaling system.

Today, no Mail or Express train was cancelled, though some were rescheduled due to late arrival of rakes and sectional congestion. The trains rescheduled included and 12277 Howrah-Purulia Express.

Only two pairs of Howrah-Panskura suburban services were cancelled today due to congestion. Apart from that, suburban trains were operating normally as per the timetable.

The Kharagpur Division has assured continued efforts to maintain punctuality and smooth operations of both Mail/Express and suburban services across the section.
