Train local youths and employ them as guides and assistants: CM

Ranchi, March. 3: Chief Minister Mr. Raghubar Das directed the Tourism Department officers to train the local people and employ them as tourist guides and assistants.

He said that the local people are aware of the localities and they will not let anyone disturb the condition. He said it while addressing a meeting of Jharkhand Tourism Development Board.

The CM said that there is ample potential in tourism. By taking some necessary steps, we can bring the state on the map of world tourism. The govt. is committed to develop all tourism spots of the state.

Mines and tribal tourism should be developed. He suggested to develop Ranchi-Rajrappa, Bodh Gaya- Itkhori circuit, install ropeway at Pahari Mandir and provide information to people about Jharkhand at railway station and aerodrome.

He directed to work fast in the areas of energy, roadways, drinking water and sanitation also.

The tourism department said that prima facie, the focus will be on 25 tourism spots of the state. In addition to religious tourism, adventure tourism, mines tourism, tribal tourism and heritage tourism are being developed. The tourism policy has been made and work of infrastructural development is going on.

Tourism Minister Mr. Amar Kr. Bauri, Chief Secretary Mr. Rajiv Gauba, Development Commissioner Mr. Amit Khare, DGP of the state, Principal Secretary to the CM Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary, Energy Mr. S. K.G. Rahate, Tourism Secretary Mr. Avinash Kumar and Secretary to the CM Mr. Sunil Kr.Burnwal were present on this occasion.
