Traffic chaos grips Jamshedpur’s Mango again

Jamshedpur, June 20:  Mango bridge witnessed yet another severe jam on Thursday, causing immense inconvenience to commuters.

The gridlock has led to slow-moving traffic along Dimna Road, Mango roundabout, Mango bridge, Old Purulia Road, Bus Stand roundabout, Old Court Road, Bus Stand Road, and MGM Hospital Road.

Despite the deployment of traffic police, the situation remains unchanged as hundreds of vehicles are stranded in the scorching sun.

The jam began around 10 am on Thursday morning and persisted for several hours, affecting school children and pedestrians who struggled under the hot sun.

Residents had hoped that the construction of the flyover in Mango would alleviate traffic congestion, but the project has encountered significant delays.

The foundation stone for the flyover was laid by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, with Minister Banna Gupta expressing that the long-standing demand of Mango residents would finally be met.

The project, estimated at Rs 252 crore under the EPC mode, has been marred by inconsistent progress.

Local frustrations are palpable as work on the flyover starts and stops intermittently, leaving commuters and residents uncertain about when relief from traffic woes will materialize.

The ongoing delays underscore the gap between promises made and actual execution, prompting calls for expedited construction to ease traffic congestion in Mango.
