Jamshedpur: A workshop commemorating World Population Day was held in the Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur, emphasizing the critical role of family planning in managing population growth. The event was attended by key officials and health department representatives, with Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar as the chief guest.
In his address, Kumar highlighted family planning as the most effective strategy for population control. He praised the ongoing efforts under the “Chhota Parivar Sukhi Parivar” initiative, which has been instrumental in promoting population management through various family planning programs.
“Family planning is the cornerstone of population control,” stated Kumar. “For years, our Health Department has been actively engaging communities through camps and sterilization programs, encouraging them to adopt family planning measures. We must continue these efforts with renewed vigor, particularly at the block and panchayat levels, to ensure widespread awareness and participation.”
Kumar urged health officials to diligently pursue the targets set by the department, emphasizing that the months of June and July would see intensified family planning activities across the district. “By embracing family planning, we can maintain a balanced population and work towards the vision of a healthy and happy Jharkhand,” he added.
The workshop saw participation from various dignitaries, including Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Majhi, Deputy Superintendent of Sadar Hospital, all Medical Officers In-Charge (MOICs), and the Child Development Project Officer. Discussions revolved around strategies to enhance the reach and effectiveness of family planning programs, ensuring that the benefits are felt across all communities in the district.
The event underscored the collective commitment to fostering a well-informed and health-conscious society, where family planning is recognized as a pivotal tool for sustainable development and improved quality of life.
