Jamshedpur : Jubilee Park, a popular picnic spot in the city, witnessed a massive influx of visitors on Sunday, leading to severe traffic congestion in and around the area. Picnickers from Jamshedpur, neighboring districts, and even Bengal thronged the park, creating a bottleneck on its inner roads and entrances.
The sheer volume of vehicles and visitors resulted in long queues, with many vehicles struggling to navigate the inner roads of the park. Barricades were placed on both sides of the main road within Jubilee Park to manage the crowd, but the situation remained challenging. Witnessing the chaos, several people chose to turn back from the gates instead of attempting to enter the overcrowded premises.
The congestion wasn’t limited to Jubilee Park. Dimna Lake, another favored picnic spot, also experienced a surge in visitors. Families and groups from nearby regions joined locals in making the most of the pleasant Sunday weather, adding to the overall pressure on infrastructure and traffic management.
The overwhelming turnout at these locations highlights the need for better crowd and traffic management during weekends and holiday seasons. Measures such as designated parking zones, traffic marshals, and alternate entry points could help ease the strain in the future, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for visitors and smoother traffic flow for the city.
