Jamshedpur: Tousif Iqbal was the star in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament here on Friday as his three goals powered Andhra Association English School (AAES) to a thumping 7-0 victory over Central Public School(CPS), Adityapur in a junior boys qualifying match at the Armoury Ground.

In a one-sided affair, Arsalam Khan opened Andhra Associations account in the 18th minute. Eight minutes later, Tousif booted in his first goal and followed it up with another in the 29th. His teammate Faheem Ahmad stepped up for the third in the 32nd minute. Two minutes later, Tousif achieved his triple with a 34th minute strike. The fate of the match was pretty much sealed with the score line reading 5-0 in favour of Andhra Association at half time.

After the break, CPS Adityapur didnt get any breathing space as Mohammad Taleb and Hidayat Ali scored two more goals for Andhra Association in the 48th and 57th minutes to complete a comprehensive victory.

In the Junior Girls category, Soma Kumari claimed the honours scoring five goals as Kasidih High School recorded a thumping 8-0 victory over Tinplate Christian Club School at the Tinplate Complex Stadium. Her teammate Shruti Kumari was equally effective scoring three goals, but it was somewhat overshadowed by Somas individual brilliance.

Such was Kasidihs dominance in the match that Soma opened the account in the very first minute while Shruti joined the party six minutes later. Soma then went on to score her second and third goals in the 33rd and 34th minutes while Shruti chipped in with her second in the 36th minute. The pair was on a song and Soma found the net again in the 38th minute and 45th minutes while Shruti scored her third goal in the 40th minute.
In a Junior Boys category match at the same venue, UMS Naga rode on a hat-trick by Hopo Sardar to hand out a 6-0 drubbing to TWU Higher Secondary School, Sidhgora. Sagen Hansda, Hopo Tudu and Chandra Hembram were the other goal getters.
In another Junior Boys match at Armoury Ground, Tata Workers Union School defeated Rajendra Vidyalay 2-0. This was comparatively a well fought match with Rajendra Vidyalay boys holding TWU back for the entire first session. After a barren first session, TWU got their act together with Ashok Mukhi finding the mark in the 48th minute while Abhisek Kumar Sharma consolidated the lead in the 60th minute.

Results (qualifiers)-Junior Boys: Andhra Association English School bt CPS Adityapur 7-0; UMS Naga bt TWU Higher Secondary School, Sidhgora 6-0; Tata Workers Union School defeated Rajendra Vidyalay 2-0.
Junior girls: Kasidih High School bt Tinplate Christian Club School 8-0; AVN High School w/o Guru Nanak Middle School.
