Jamshedpur, April 11: Top 4 seeds of the Girls Singles Under 18 category lived up to their billings as they entered the semi finals at the ongoing Beldih Club All India National Ranking Junior Tennis Championship Series 2023, being held at the sand clay courts of the Beldih Club.
On Tuesday, Prashansa Shrivasta, seeded 1 in the Girls Singles Under 18 draw, survived a scare in the hands of unseeded Disha Kumar of Karnataka. Shrivastava won by a long and hard fought 4-6,6-3,6-4. On the other hand, Saumya Chatterjee and Aleena Farid, seeded 2 & 3 did not have to sweat much as they won against their opponents, Trisha Saha and Faizah Shah respectively without conceding a game. 4th seeded Kinza Shaikh though did not have it easy as she surpassed the challenge from Sarah Loiuse Gomes by a close 7-5,7-5.
In the Boys Singles Under 18 category, the players who have made it to the semi finals are Shounak Chatterjee, Siddhant Mohapatra, Md Adil and Chiradeep Mazumder.
Matches will start from 9 am on Wednesday.
