Jamshedpur, July 12: Tata Main Hospital (TMH), Jamshedpur today marked a major healthcare milestone with the Decennial Celebration of its Cath Lab, commemorating ten years of continuous service in interventional cardiac care, innovation, and trust.
The event, held at a city hotel, was graced by D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President Corporate Services, Tata Steel, as the Chief Guest, and Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President, Tata Workers’ Union (TWU), as the Guest of Honour.
Tata Steel’s CEO & MD, T. V. Narendran underlined the company’s long-standing commitment to community healthcare and the vision behind establishing such a critical life-saving facility within TMH, through a video message.
D B Sundara Ramam commended Cath Lab’s journey and the dedicated team behind its growth. He acknowledged the instrumental support received from Care Hospital in the early years and appreciated the way TMH’s Cath Lab has consistently upheld clinical excellence, accessibility, and innovation in cardiac care over the past decade.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vinita Singh, General Manager, Medical Services, Tata Steel, reflected on the journey of the Cath Lab, highlighting its evolution into a high-performing, future-ready centre.
The celebration also featured a keynote address by Dr. C. Narasimhan, Consultant Cardiologist and HOD of Electrophysiology at CARE Hospitals, and President of the Indian Society of Electrocardiography. Dr. Narasimhan played a pivotal mentorship role during the establishment of the TMH Cath Lab and has remained closely associated with its progress.
Dr. Mandar Mahavir Shah, Chief Consultant Cardiologist and current Head of the Cath Lab, who has overseen its steady growth in both clinical and academic capability emphasized that while much has been achieved, the journey is far from over—with newer technologies, higher case complexities, and a continued commitment to excellence still ahead.
Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President, TWU appreciated the role of the Cath Lab in delivering accessible and timely cardiac care to the community. Underscoring that happiness begins with good health, he congratulated the team at TMH for the Lab’s journey over the past decade and the remarkable development it has witnessed—both in infrastructure and patient outcomes.
The event concluded with reflections from the medical team, patients, and community stakeholders, all celebrating a decade of clinical excellence built on vision, skill, and compassion.
