Jamshedpur: The recent power outages experienced in Sukhiya Road of Number 10 Basti were caused by excessive demand and unauthorized connections, which had strained the electrical infrastructure beyond its capacity by over 30%.
The Tinplate Town Services Staffs, along with the TSUISL team, were fully engaged to address the issue. However, the team on-site faced a lack of support and cooperation from the residents of Number 10 Basti, which initially hindered the resolution efforts.
On the night of June 11, 2024, protests erupted due to the power cuts. The security and police personnel were able to manage the situation, allowing for the temporary restoration of power. The following morning, more residents protested at Gate No.1. The Electrical Team addressed the crowd, explaining the underlying issues and the planned solutions.
Key actions taken included the installation of an additional transformer and the upgrade to heavy-duty cables. As a result, the power supply was fully restored by midnight on June 12, 2024.
