Jamshedpur, March 22: The deadlock that has been going on for the last four years regarding the recruitment process of employee wards in Timken Company seems to be coming to an end. The management and the union are learnt to have agreed to formulate an employment policy for the absorption of employee wards. The matter of recruitment of employee wards was taken before DLC on behalf of the previous union earlier. When the dispute could not be resolved before the DLC, the matter was taken to the court. During the grade revision, an out-of-court settlement was reached on behalf of the previous union on the recruitment issue, but the recruitment process could not take off. After the change of helmsmanship at the union, the new team has again raised the matter of recruitment of employee wards before the management. Sources claimed a consensus has been reached on the issue between the management and the union.
Union general secretary Vijay Yadav said, “In order to start the recruitment process, both the company management and the union will sit together and formulate the recruitment policy. The union took up the issue of recruitment of employee wards with the Timken Managing Director (India) Sanjay Kaul a day ago. With the approval of the higher management in this matter, the impasse regarding the recruitment of employee wards in Timken seems to end soon. In this matter the management will be taking legal advice within 10 days, sources said.
