Team to leave for Madrid, Spain on August 13

Jamshedpur, Aug. 4 : After a successful first outing in Indian Super League ( ISL), Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC) is raring to go for the 2018-19 season beginning mid-September.

As per plans Jamshepdur FC will be leaving for Madrid, Spain on August 13 for a pre-season training camp.

Sources in the JFC said training will be conducted at a high altitude location and maximum stress would be given on short passes. The team will also play friendly matches with some Spanish Clubs.

An official of JFC, said players will leave for Madrid from Calcutta and New Delhi. Some of our players would fly from Calcutta on August 13 and some from Delhi the following day.

As a leg up to the preparations, Cesar Ferrando has been appointed as the new head coach of Jamshedpur Football Club. Mr Cesar had an extremely successful stint in his last assignment with Spanish Club, La Nucia. He has managed teams such as Atletico de Madrid, Valencia B, Elche, Albacete (La Liga&Segunda Division Clubs).

During his first interaction at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur, the coach promised to focus on Tiki-taka, which is a Spanish style of play in football characterised by short passing and movement, working the ball through various channels, and maintaining possession.

Expressing confidence Cesar said: �Our main objective will be to give our best every day at every training session and make the team compete at the highest level every game we play. We will focus and prepare game by game as it will be a final with hard work, passion, sacrifice, effort, team work and humility. Success for me in this season will be to play good football, implement a strong and unique football model to make the team more competitive in the league and let the supporters enjoy the faith they have put in my team, my staff and me.�

Cesar also possesses experience in coaching an Asian team with his stint in Malaysia where he managed JohurDarulTakzim F.C. in 2013-14. During his player career, Cesar plied his trade as a midfielder and represented top Spanish clubs such as Valencia, Salamanca, Sabadell, Alzira (La Liga&Segunda Division Clubs).
