Saraikela, Aug 5: Three government schools of Seraikela Kharsawan district will become modern and model equipped with all state-of-the-art facilities. In the first phase, 80 government schools across the state are to be converted into Schools of Excellence under the jointly sponsored Schools of Excellence by the Central and State Governments.
The three schools in the district identified for conversion to Schools of Excellence include Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Residential School, Seraikela as residential school, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singhdev State Endowed Girls High School, Seraikela as Girls Education and Nripraj Government High School, Seraikela as Co-education School, will be converted into Schools of Excellence. In the first phase tender formalities of Nripraj Government High School, Seraikela has been completed.
School of Excellence has been conceived with the idea of allround development of students with the salient features being classes from Pre-Primary to XII will be taught in English Medium as per CBSE pattern; subject-wise trained teachers will be available for each class in the ratio of 1:40 class wise as per Right to Education norms; smart classes will be arranged for each class; there will be a separate well equipped laboratory; a sports complex will be built with indoor and outdoor games facilities; provision of gymnasium; there will be facility of multi-purpose hall for seminars; arrangement of modern library equipped with informative and competitive books will be done; there will be separate toilets for boys and girls.
The objective of the School of Excellence will be to prepare the students of government schools to compete with challenges of the present hi-tech era by providing quality education in English medium. Also the aim is to make available the frills of private schools to the children from poor families and classes in government schools.
Giving information in this regard, Vasudev Ram, Principal of Nripraj Government High School, Seraikela, said that 10 weeks of 8 modules are being given online by NIEPA of NCSL regarding the construction of School of Excellence. In which training is being given on a total of eight modules including Prospective of School Leadership. Certificate will be given after 10 weeks of training.
Saraikela's reputed school is Nripraj Government $2 High School that was established in the year 1924 during the British era.
