Jamshedpur: City police Friday arrested three members of a gang involved in defrauding people by withdrawing cash from their accounts through cyber hacking and confiscated cash worth Rs 52,000, four mobile phones and an ATM card from their possession.
Those arrested were identified as Vivek Kumar Choubey alias Vicky, Jagarnath Keshri alias Jaggu and Rahul Kumar Singh, all local residents.
According to SSP Anoop Birtharay, a police team led by DSP CCR Sudhir Kumar arrested Vikas, the kingpin, from Bistupur market. During frisking, cops found Rs 20,000 on him.
During interrogation, Choubey spilled the beans and admitted that he was involved in a series of ATM frauds. Choubey duped one Rajesh Gope by transferring Rs 1 lakh from his account to other accounts and withdrawing the cash later through ATM card, said the SSP.
Based on the information furnished by Vikas, police arrested his two aides.
