Jamshedpur: Police have arrested three persons in connection with the death of youth Rahul Bhuiyan, who was beaten on allegations of theft near Chhayanagar Dandi Medical in the Sitaramdera police station area.
Based on a complaint filed by Rahul’s family, Shubham Sharma alias Tinku (resident of Bhuiyandih Nirmal Nagar), Suraj Kumar Ravi (Mango, Daiguttu Road No. 6), and Santosh Kumar Srivastava (Sitaramdera Hume Pipe, Chandinagar) were named as accused, along with two unidentified individuals. Police swiftly conducted raids and arrested the three named accused. Efforts were underway to trace the remaining suspects.
In a twist, Shubham Sharma has filed a counter-case against Rahul, alleging that Rahul and his associates, Vicky Bhuiyan and Avinash Bhuiyan, were caught stealing iron from his shop around 2:30 a.m. on August 29. A dispute allegedly escalated into the fatal incident.
Police officials confirmed that complaints had been filed by both sides, and an impartial investigation was underway. Rahul’s body was handed over to his family after post-mortem. To prevent unrest, additional police forces had been deployed in the area.
