Major Dhyan Chand Boxing Competition held in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum District Boxing Association organized a district-level Major Dhyan Chand Boxing Competition on the occasion of International Sports Day at the Community Center in Baridih. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young athletes across the district.

The competition was graced by several dignitaries. K. Raju, in-charge of Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee, attended as the chief guest. Among the special guests were State Congress President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, former MP and ex-State President Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, and former Minister Banna Gupta.

Addressing the participants, Chief Guest K. Raju lauded the immense sporting potential of Jharkhand’s youth. He emphasized that with the right guidance, discipline, and consistent practice, the state’s players could excel nationally and internationally. He also underlined the importance of sportsmanship and perseverance as the true hallmarks of success.

The competition featured several thrilling bouts, with the winners receiving prizes, medals, and certificates of honor. The event highlighted the growing interest of local youth in boxing and other sports.

The organizing committee of the District Boxing Association, including Anand Bihari Dubey, Samant Kumar, Gurupado Gorai, Sushil Ghosh, Atul Gupta, and Rana Banerjee, played key roles in ensuring the program’s success. Their coordinated efforts were widely appreciated
