Jamshedpur, Nov 10: The third bridge and flyover proposed to be built in Mango will prove to be a milestone for Jamshedpur. This was observed here on Thursday by the state Health Minister Banna Gupta.

In a press release issued today, Gupta announced that the state Cabinet had given its nod for the construction of a third bridge at Mango and the first flyover of Jamshedpur. The Cabinet has approved a fund of Rs 474.78 crore for the twin projects, he said.

“The high-quality bridge would link Mango and Azad Basti to Sakchi. Its length will be approximately four kilometer,” said the Minister.

Gupta said it has been his long-pending ambition to provide the residents of Mango good riddance from the problem of road jam and introduce world-class civic amenities to them on lines of metro cities. “Jamshedji Tata would have been very happy to know that the city of his dream is now taking shape,” he said.

The Minister said the people of the city had given him affection and blessings by electing him as the MLA and added that now it is his turn to do something for their benefit.

“Third Mango bridge and flyover in city are my gifts for the people of the city. The project work would begin very soon and I would monitor it to ensure quality construction,” said Gupta.

In a slighting allusion to Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy, the Minister said, “Some people had termed the bridge and flyover projects as false and misconceived. They had claimed that neither a third bridge nor a flyover an ever be built in Mango. One person had also said that someone not in his senses can only dream such things. The Cabinet approval is my reply to them.”

Gupta said the state government was elected by the people and hence its topmost priority was to serve the 3.25 crore population of Jharkhand with integrity and honesty. He thanked Chief Minister Hemant Soren for his support and guidance so far.
