Jamshedpur: A fresh incident of theft has once again exposed lapses in night patrolling in the Bistupur police station area. On Saturday night, thieves targeted ‘Chicken Point’ and a nearby salon located close to the Dhatkidih Community Center, escaping with around Rs 18,000 in cash and goods.
According to reports, the miscreants first broke into Chicken Point, stealing Rs 8,000–10,000 from the cash box along with other items. They then ransacked the adjoining salon, scattering goods and taking away cash. This was the second time Chicken Point had been burgled, its operator said.
The incident triggered outrage among shopkeepers, who alleged that thefts had been occurring frequently in the area for the past few months. Locals said thieves appeared to be roaming without fear of law enforcement.
Upon receiving information, Bistupur police reached the spot, conducted an inspection, and began reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprits. Residents, however, demanded stricter night patrols and immediate arrests to restore public trust and ensure security in the marketplace.
