Theft at NSUI leader�s flat, criminals decamp with cash and cell-phone

Jamshedpur : Unknown criminals decamped with cash and a cell-phone from a residential apartment at Hume Pipe area at New Baradwari under Sitaramdera police station area at the wee hours on Tuesday. The flat belongs to Parvinder Singh, former district president of National Students Union of India (NSUI), a student wing of Congress.

As the news spread police pressed into service a squad of sniffer dog for detection of the case. The flat-owner Parvinder Singh also lodged an FIR with the Sitaramdera police station area. He found his cell-phone was missing and also missing was Rs 6,000 from the pocket of his jeans pant.

Officer-in-charge, Sitaramdera police station Shushil Kumar Chowdhury visited the spot. Later deputy superintendent of police (city) KN Chowdhury also inspected the place of occurrence.

Officer-in-charge Chowdhury confirmed the burglary and claimed that they had pressed a dog squad into service for detecting the crime. Sources in the police said that they would soon detect the case as the burglars have taken out the cell-phone.

“We are investigating the incident. We are confident to detect the crime by putting the stolen cell-phone on surveillance as the criminals will definitely either sell off the handset or use it themselves,” said a police officer.

Singh said that though he had his house at Aam Bagan Area in Sakchi, but as some renovation work was going on at the Aam Bagan house, he had shifted his residence to the Hume Pipe a few months ago.
