Jamshedpur, March 28: Thieves targeted the Covid test centre near Sakchi Jail Chowk on Sunday night and took away copper wire from the AC installed there. District Civil Surgeon Dr AK Lal said the thieves cut the AC wire during the late hours when there was no one around. As a result of the theft, the AC has stopped working at the Covid test centre.
The Covid test centre is run under the supervision of the district TB department. It was the first Covid test centre of the district which continues to work till date. The samples collected here are sent to MGM Medical College. So far over 24 lakh Covid tests have been performed in East Singhbhum district, out of whom, 69,788 have been found to be positive. As many as 68,641 patients have recovered.
