Jamshedpur, Aug 18: Nand Kishor Agrawal, affectionately known as Nandu Bhai members of the theatre fraternity was paid heartfelt homage on his sudden demise. Stage icon Hari Mittal, the president of cultural organization Abhisarika recalled Nandu Bhai�s association with the performing media, theatre. Incidentally, Nand Kishor Agrawal was the past president of Abhisarika. Stating from his memoirs, Hari Mittal said, �Nandu Bhai played the character of Kripacharya in Abhisarika�s first theatrical presentation of �Andha Yug.� His acting prowess became sharper as was evident from his performances in subsequent plays like �Kasai Para,� �Ek tha Gadha,� �Laila Majnu Murdabad� and �Singhasan Khali Haye.� There was no looking back for him. He has left behind his mark in various roles since then. Nandu Bhai�s death is a sudden and hard blow which is hard to accept but then that is the other truth of life.�
Nand Kishor Agrawal, besides being a very good theatre artiste was a social activist also. He was associated with various social organizations including Marwari Sammelan, Agrawal Sammelan and Rajasthan Yuvak Mandal. He was an employee of Bank of India and was the secretary of the bank�s AIBEA unit.
Many performing artistes of Abhisarika participated in this online condolence meeting sharing their experiences and feelings on their association with Nand Kishor Agrawal. Senior member Kamal Kishor Agrawal shared some interesting moments during rehearsal times. The organization�s general secretary Shiv Kumar Prasad said that Nandu Bhai�s absence would always be felt.
Among prominent theatre personalities who attended the condolence meeting convened online were KL Mittal, Shiv Kumar Prasad, Krishna Sinha, Ramawtar Agrawal, Prem Agrawal, Shankarlal Likhra, Yogesh Malhotra, novelist and short story writer Jainandan, Dwarka Pandey, Awtar Singh, Chandra (Chennai), Rajesh Sinha (Patna), Suchhanda Bose (United States) and Vaishnavi Singh (Visakhapatnam). A two minute silence was observed at the conclusion of the condolence meet.
