More than 2000 spectators witnessed an engrossing game of football
Noamundi, September 19, 2017: Tata Steel Noamundi organised a one off exhibition football match between Tata Football Academy (TFA) and Odisha XI at Sports Complex, Noamundi.
In a thrilling finish, TFA XI won the match by 5-4 goals in the penalty shootout. The exhibition match was inaugurated by Mr Pankaj Kumar Satija, General Manager, Ore Mines and Quarries (OMQ) Division, Tata Steel who graced the occasion as chief guest along with Mr Samresh Bhandari, Block Development Officer, Noamundi. More than 2000 spectators witnessed the game.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Satija said: �Sports is an integral part of life in Tata Steel. It was a thrilling football match and both teams showed excellent sportsman spirit. The purpose of such exhibition match is to bring forth the national football to the people of Noamundi and its nearby areas.�
Expressing his happiness, Mr Vikash Balmuchu, Defender, TFA XI said: �To come back to the place where you have started your career is always wonderful. The stadium had an ecstatic and energized atmosphere which was a great boost for all the players�.
