Telugu Samajam celebrates Ugadi with grandeur

 

Jamshedpur: The All Jharkhand Telugu Samajam celebrated the Telugu New Year and Ugadi festival with great enthusiasm in Kadma. On this occasion, Samajam President Y. Eswara Rao extended warm wishes to all Telugus, emphasizing that Ugadi marks the beginning of the New Year in South India, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

General Secretary Y. Nageswara Rao highlighted the festival’s deep connection with nature, as many people start new ventures and housewarming ceremonies on this auspicious day. Chairman Yam B. Subramaniam stated that according to mythology, Lord Brahma created the universe on this day, making Ugadi a symbol of cosmic renewal.

Vice President Chandrashekhar Rao noted that Ugadi encourages people to leave the past behind and focus on the future. Spokesperson Yas Prasad Rao added that Lord Rama’s coronation is also believed to have taken place on Ugadi, and prayers are offered to Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati, Lord Vishnu, Lord Rama, and Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity and peace.

A special tradition of Ugadi is preparing and consuming Ugadi Pachadi, a mixture of raw mango, neem flowers, banana, coconut, and jaggery, symbolizing different aspects of life. The Samajam also extended wishes for world peace on the occasion of the Hindu New Year.

Several community members, including Y. Eswara Rao, Yam B. Subramaniam, Chandrasekhar Rao, Y. Nageswara Rao, Yas Prasad Rao, Janakiram, Pralad Rao, Shekhar Rao, and others, participated in the celebrations.
