Jamshedpur, Feb 15: XLRI is all set to organise the 8th Edition of TEDxXLRI virtually on February 19 2020 from 6 pm to 9 pm. The theme for the same being ‘Surviving the Storm’, through which we seek to inspire inquisitive minds through stories of path makers who defied all odds and emerged victoriously.
“Our event is called TEDxXLRI, where x = independently organized TED event. At TEDxXLRI, we seek to uncover new ideas, provide the authentic and intelligent perspective of unexplored topics, challenge students to think about complex ideas, and to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in our community. We aim to provide a platform for people that have big ideas or are doing remarkable work that would never be recognized in any other way,” said an official.
The session will be addressed by Deepika Kumari, one of India’s finest archers and a former world number one. At the Delhi Commonwealth games 2010, Deepika won two gold medals, one in the individual event and the other in the women’s recurve event. She has been conferred with the Arjuna Award, India’s second-highest sporting award, in the year 2012 by President of India Pranab Mukherjee and the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2016.
The session will also see participation of Dhaval Jain- a 2014 batch Indian Administrative Service officer, Dhaval Jain is also an MBA from the Prestigious IIM Ahmedabad. Sarah Hussain, who runs food blogs by the name ‘zingyzest’ is one the youngest and most successful bloggers in India. She has over 380k followers on Instagram, where she strikes a balance between street food and fine dining. Aditya Gupta- an entrepreneur and ace mountaineer who successfully summited Mt Everest at the age of 50, Aditya Gupta is the owner of successful brands like Sharda Exports, India, The Rug Republic, and The Furniture Republic.
Amit Behl- Amit Behl is an Indian theatre, television and film actor who has worked in over almost 100 TV serials, broadcasted over a variety of channels spanning across the Hindi, English, Marathi, Punjabi and Urdu television industry. A senior joint secretary of CINTAA (Cine & TV artistes association) since 2015, he is also a member of the governing council of MESC (Media & Entertainment skill council).
