Jamshedpur, Jan 11: Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta extended warm wishes for the New Year and Makar Sankranti to the teachers and non-teaching staff of Jamshedpur Women’s University during a meeting held at the Sidhgora campus on Saturday.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the Dean of Student Welfare, Dr. Kishwar Ara, who presented a bouquet to Prof. Gupta as a token of respect. In her speech, Dr. Ara highlighted the transformative leadership of Prof. Gupta, praising her for giving the university a new identity and guiding its progress.
In her address, Prof. Gupta wished everyone a joyous New Year and Makar Sankranti. She reflected on the significance of the festival, saying, “Makar Sankranti teaches us humility. Just as sesame seeds symbolize our smallness in the vast universe, they remind us to let go of ego and embrace humility.” She also acknowledged the collective effort of the university staff in advancing the institution’s goals, emphasizing the importance of teamwork.
The meeting saw the participation of Registrar Rajendra Jaiswal, Development Officer Dr. Salomi Kujur, Finance Officer Dr. Javed Ahmed, Controller of Examinations Dr. Rama Subramanian, Dean of Commerce Dr. Deepa Sharan, IQAC Director Dr. Ratna Mitra, along with heads of departments, teachers, and non-teaching staff.
