Teachers� workshop concludes today

Jamshedpur: The valedictory session of the three day teachers� training workshop on �Lions quest: skills for adolescence� will be held tomorrow at 3 PM at Nature Education Centre, Tata Steel Zoological Park.

It will be graced by A P R Nair, chairman, Kerala Public School Trust. Other participants will include Rotarian Ronald D�Costa, past district governor, and Rajnish Kumar, second vice district governor (elect).

The workshop is being attended by 32 teachers from twelve different schools. The programme which has the recommendation of WHO, UNICEF and UNESCO, is currently being implemented in 73 countries all over the world. In the city, the programme is on since the year 2004.

On the second day of the workshop, topics including community building, decision making, identifying the need and service learning were touched upon and many individual and group exercises took place.

All participants were given a set of seven books at the beginning of the workshop. During the valedictory function, they will be awarded international certificate making them eligible to take classes across the globe where the Skills for Adolescence (SFA) programme is on.

Ratna Choudhry, senior trainer, Lions Quest from New Delhi is the resource person of the programme.
