Ranchi, April 15: Abhishek Shukla, President of AJSU Ranchi University, highlighted the dire state of higher education in the state due to severe shortage of teachers. Shukla emphasized that this shortage had hindered the youth’s access to higher education. In a press release issued on Monday, Shukla pointed out that despite the announcement of vacancies for Assistant Professors by the state government in 2008, no further vacancies had been released in the last 16 years, despite numerous retirements. “This negligence from the state government has adversely affected students and aspiring scholars,” he mentioned Shukla criticized the current administration for failing to fulfill its promises, including providing unemployment allowances, and urged immediate action to address the teacher shortage. He warned of potential protests by the AJSU if the appointment process was not initiated promptly
